Soil, Water, Groundwater, Air Sampling

Environmental sampling is key to assessing and quantifying the presence of pollutants on your property, in your house, or at federal sites. APTA offers environmental field sampling for soil, groundwater, sediment, water, and air. Our methodology follows the Hawai‘i Department of Health (DOH) Hazard Evaluation and Emergency Response Office (HEER) guidelines. The accurate collection process will provide you with data to determine the nature and extent of contamination, understand how it occurred, and guide the selection of the appropriate remediation actions.

The type of equipment we use depends on various factors, including the media, contaminants of concern (COCs), sampling frequency, regulatory requirements, site accessibility, and sampling objectives. For example, we use X-ray fluorescence (XRF) analyzers for lead paint and heavy metals, and Photoionization Detectors (PIDs) for volatile organic compounds (VOCs). APTA also provides services for concrete asbestos sampling, continuous water quality monitoring using auto-samplers, and dust and particulate monitoring. Our approach ensures that the equipment selected is tailored to the specific needs of each site and project.
